Product Description
A Toccata in musical terms means, literally, "touch piece". It is a musical form written for solo instrument in a free style, designed to showcase and improve an individual performer's skills. This design is a Toccata for needlework. It was designed to show off an individual stitcher's skills and for learning, practicing and improving needlework techniques. Toccata Number Four has been divided in to three booklets since it is a very large design and the number of pages that can be bound into one booklet is limited. This booklet contains complete instructions for working the 15 horizontal bands of Part II, the middle band of the design. Two subsequent booklets contain instructions for the remaining bands. The fabric size given is for stitching all three bands on one piece of linen though each band can be stitched separately. Entire sampler measures 214 x 286 stitches, the individual band is 70 x 286 stitches. Stitched on 32 count vintage country mocha Belfast linen cut to 20" x 24" (3609-3009) and uses Au Ver A Soie silk (KSAVS-3716, 3714, 4626, 4644, 4632, 3815, 1736, 1814, 3431, 3711), Gloriana silk color 138, and Soie d'Alger 100/3 (KS100-080).
