Designer Phyllis Maurer subtitles her series of Ethnic Fiber Arts books, "Honoring Cultural Diversity." Her goal is to introduce more embroiderers to beautiful ethnic embroideries, as well as give the history, materials, teach the technique (with very clear diagrams and photos), and provide projects to try. She wants to help others uncover their heritage, as well as preserve seldom seen techniques. This doily was developed as a way of featuring the right angle darning pattern (an adaptation of the basic darning pattern). For white project you will need a 15" x 15" piece of 34 count white linen, Silk Grandeur ([2] RGGRA-G800), Silk Bella (KSBEL-8000), the Pure Palette Soy Luster Thread in color 458, and white rayon thread (DM001-S5200).
