Product Description
4.25" hand carved bone laying tool is perfect for keeping multiple strands of silk, cotton or other fibers aligned and not twisted. This gives the finished needlework the smoothest and most beautiful look. In addition, stroking of silk threads increases the sheen of the silk. To use the laying tool, as the loop of thread is drawn down to the fabric, insert the laying tool in the loop. The thread is stroked as the loop is closing to make sure the threads stay aligned. Other tips for keeping your strands from twisting include stripping (separating) your strands and re-combining before you begin. You should also turn your needle slightly with each stitch to prevent twisting, or if you prefer, drop the needle occasionally to untwist the thread. Patterns may vary from the one shown.
