All six leaflets in a portfolio. The Nativity is a study in beautifully blended colors and shimmering metallics which took three years to design. From the woolly tassels on the haughty camel to the homespun tweed of the shepherds' robes, the richness of detail is evident. Each figure and grouping within the Nativity has been uniquely designed to be stitched and displayed as an individual piece, or stitch the entire set. Custom frames are available (#NAT120) when the designs are stitched on 18-count aida, or for an even more delicate effect, stitch on 36-count Edinborough linen over two threads. The six full-color leaflets are available as a set in a beautiful portfolio. The entire piece framed measures 68" x 28-1/2" when stitched on 18- or 36-count fabric.

A friend from my embroidery guild brought me to her church to see this design. A parishioner made it for display every Christmas at the foot of the altar. I couldn't believe how gorgeous this design is. I'm told stitching the whole thing takes about 1,000 hours. The stitcher gave me her charts, which are in great condition, and I am now in the process of getting the supplies. I see that Nordic Needle has the metallics kitted, which comes to about 40 spools and that is a huge help. Also, they have figured out how much fabric is needed with instructions for cutting. I'm looking forward to doing this great design.

This is certainly one of the best Christmas designs I have ever seen! Because it is so big, I plan to do the centerpiece for Christmas 2010, and then do one piece per year. This is certainly a piece to leave behind for our (grand)children. sonja
