Ivory Tray Insert (November 2001)
Stitch this beautiful ivory tray insert from Onies Own Hardanger Designs by Leona "Onie" Isenberg. Onie stitched this doily or tray insert as a house gift for her daughter, Lisa.
Finished Size: 7_ x 12_
Materials:
- 10" x 15" ivory Hardanger fabric (22 count)
- 1 ball #5 and 1 ball #8 DMC pearl cotton, color 712 (cream)
- OR 2 skeins #5 and 1 ball #8 Anchor pearl cotton, color 926 (cream)
- Tray with 9.5 x 15.5 opening (or use it as a doily)
Working Instructions: Fold the fabric in half lengthwise to find the center line. Measure down 2" to begin the first satin stitch (see arrow) using size #5 pearl cotton. Work all the satin stitches and buttonhole edge with size #5. Use size #8 for eyelets, star filler, cable stitch, woven bars and webs.
