Ivory Octagonal Doily (December 2001)
Stitch this beautiful ivory octagonal doily from Hardanger Embroidery for Special People by Sue Sutherland.
Finished Size: 10" x 10"
Materials:
- 13" x 13" ivory Hardanger fabric (22 count)
- 1 ball #5 and 1 ball #8 DMC pearl cotton, color 712 (cream)
- OR 2 skeins #5 and 1 ball #8 Anchor pearl cotton, color 926 (cream)
Working Instructions: Fold the fabric in half to find the center line. Measure down 1" to begin the first satin stitch (see arrow) using size #5 pearl cotton. Work all the satin stitches, solid motifs and buttonhole edge with size #5. Use size #8 for cable stitch, eyelets, woven bars, picots and webs.
