This is a lovely Christmas tree skirt in Hardanger embroidery featuring candles in a bed of holly and berries. The top is edged in red with holly and berry motifs. The model was stitched on 28-count white Jobelan. Substitutes are 28-count white Cashel linen (3281-100) or 28-count white Lugana (3270-100). The fibers are DMC Pearl Cotton #8 - #700, 699, 666, 3823, 744, and 676; DMC Pearl Cotton #12 - #3823; and Kreinik #8 braid - #842 x 2, 003, and 002. The bottom of the model is hemmed with red drapery trim and a red felt underskirt provides structure to the skirt as well as backing for the openwork of the candles. The design could also become a round tablecloth or stitched the candle motifs at the end of a table runner. Finishing instructions are included. Finished size of needlework is 42-44".
