This Schwalm band was designed by Linda Driskell and taught at our 2016 Nordic Needle Retreat. Schwalm closely resembles Hedebo embroidery which is from Denmark. Schwalm is named after a region along the Schwalm river in Germany. This form of whitework incorporates pulled and drawn thread, needle weaving, and surface embroidery. This band does not have any cutting, and features Coral Knots, Chain Stitches, Needlelace, Mock Faggot Filling, Spaced Pulled Satin Stitch filling, scalloped Buttonhole,. Suggested supplies: 8" of 25 count white Dublin linen (if stitching together with other 2016 Retreat bands, you will need a 12" piece); DMC pearl cotton #8 white
