Blackwork Flower with Cross Stitch #1309A
- Intermediate Skill level
- Stitch count 127 x 134
From Liz, "Dating from Tudor times the idea of filling flower and leaf shapes with blackwork techniques became widely used and many examples can be seen in portraits painted at the time. This is my interpretation of a blackwork flower using a variety of filling stitches. It also includes gold beads and metallic thread to add texture and sparkle." Liz provides color suggestions, color charts, and method instructions. Stitches used are back and cross stitch.
