Sharon writes, "Inspired by our trip last year to Hawaii - a 10 years of employment gift from my boss and his wife." This beautiful flower is created using three easy stitches! Stem, bullions, and buttonhole. Layering the petals gives added dimension, with the aid of wire (included). Detailed stitch instructions can be found in the Art of Dimensional Embroidery by Maria Freitas. Included in this partial kit: cream fabric with printed design backed in sturdy muslin, printed fabric for working the detached petals, and 2 pieces of wire. You will need: Lola 308, 121; Iris 308, 230 x 2, 149, 207, 130, 407 (128); Nova 121, 207; Glory 122, 157; milliners size 3, 5, and 7; darner size 16. Sharon also recommends to use a hoop: a 5" and a 7" or 8".
If you choose to kit this pattern, the supplies listed are to complete one pattern as represented, unless otherwise noted. Our staff suggested substitutions appear in parentheses.
