Kogin is a uniquely Japanese needlework technique that was born of a practical desire for warmth, and the need to strengthen fabric used in everyday life. It is recognizable by its geometric designs which are embroidered with thick threads on a base fabric. It dates back to the 1600's and has quite an interesting history. Spiral bound, 17 pages. This pillow will give you some experience in stitching two types of Kogin designs - diamond and edge-to-edge. Some basic knowledge of Kogin is necessary.
