Product Details

Four projects step you through beginning Hardanger stitches. Hardanger embroidery is a technique that originated in the Hardanger area of Norway over 400 years. It was originally called Norwegian Drawn Thread and was traditionally worked on white linen fabric using white linen threads. Because linen was expensive, this embroidery was used on special garments worn for weddings and holidays. Learn the basic stitches of Hardanger in this 34-page spiral bound book. Practice with a learning piece that can be framed or finished as a pincushion or doily.

If you choose to kit this pattern, the supplies listed are to complete one pattern as represented, unless otherwise noted. Our staff suggested substitutions appear in parentheses.
