Big Red Ship of Life was inspired by the antique weavings of Sumatra called Tampan often called shipcloths. Tampans symbolize transition and were used in weddings, naming ceremonies for newborns, circumcisions, and funerals. The design also features a panoply of fishes, turtles, birds, and more. The stitch count is 345 x 421 over 2 threads with one strand of floss with a design size of 21.5" x 26.5" on 32-count. This requires a lot of thread so it is recommended you use DMC or Sullivans floss in case you need to purchase more.
- Supplies required:
- 28" (includes 6" for finishing) 32-count Antique Ivory Belfast (3609-233)
