If you want to learn Hardanger embroidery, but do not have a local class to attend, this instructional learning DVD may be the answer. Julie Norton of J Designs has produced this helpful and informative DVD entitled, "Take the Hard Out of Hardanger Embroidery DVD". Julie shows and tells you how to begin a design by placing a basting stitch grid, and exactly where to put your needle for the first set of kloster blocks. You will learn how to do many stitches and Julie also includes many helpful hints. Besides the basic kloster block, you will learn the buttonhole edge, woven bars, picot, dove's eye, lacy wrap, cable, and adjoining wrap. The DVD includes a design and chart for the small project. You will need a 9" square of 22 count Hardanger fabric, one skein of pearl cotton #5, one ball of pearl cotton #8, and tapestry needles in size 22 and 24. Of course, you want a fine-point, sharp embroidery scissors to accomplish a close, clean cut. Don't delay learning Hardanger a moment longer.
